David Faucon joins the Friends of IHES Board of Directors

Friends of IHES is delighted to welcome David Faucon to its Board of Directors, which he officially joined on March 4, 2024.

David Faucon began his career as a quantitative researcher and then as an equity trader at Societe Generale in 2000. He joined Tower Research Capital in 2009 as a partner, and co-founded Latour Trading LLC. Under his leadership as CEO, Latour Trading has grown over the past 15 years.

David Faucon is French and has lived in New York since 2005. He is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique as well as Pierre and Marie Curie University, where he studied more particularly financial mathematics. He also holds a Master’s degree of Statistics and Economics from ENSAE Paris.

He got first involved with Friends of IHES in 2013 at a gala. Since then, he has regularly made significant gifts to Friends of IHES, including a $1M contribution to the Friends of IHES endowment fund in 2022. David Faucon is also a supporter of Robin Hood, Food Bank for New York City and the Friends of Ecole Polytechnique.

On top of his financial contributions, David Faucon has always shown a keen interest in the Institute, being in regular contact with the director, Emmanuel Ullmo, as well as several Board members of the Friends of IHES. He has participated in most of the events organized in New York and has introduced several of his colleagues, friends and contacts to IHES and Friends of IHES over the years.

“I am thrilled to join Friends of IHES. I admire the intellectual activity that characterizes the Institute and I am humbled by the scientific work done there. I feel great about the support that Friends of IHES gives to IHES and it is a pleasure for me to do what I can to help such an institution,” said David Faucon.

Friends of IHES warmly welcomes David Faucon and is very grateful for his increased involvement.
